Resolve Philly Welcomes New Chief Programs Officer

Sara Shahriari, formerly of the Institute for Nonprofit News, joins the Executive Leadership team 
 

PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 17, 2024 - Resolve Philly is thrilled to announce the appointment of Sara Shahriari as its new Chief Programs Officer (CPO). With a wealth of experience in journalism, leadership development, and community engagement, Sara brings a unique blend of skills to the critical role.

Shahriari, formerly the Director of Leadership and Talent at the Institute for Nonprofit News (INN), will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of Resolve’s programmatic initiatives. In her new role as CPO, Shahriari will develop editorial workflows, track progress toward programmatic goals, and cultivate external relationships and partnerships.

"Sara's proven track record of strategic thinking, leadership development, and editorial expertise in the media landscape makes her an ideal fit for Resolve," said Jean Friedman-Rudovsky, Executive Director of Resolve Philly. Shahriari holds a Master's in Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Pennsylvania. Her expertise in building relationships, managing teams, and fostering inclusive environments will be invaluable and marks an exciting new chapter for the nonprofit newsroom as it continues its mission of serving information needs and fostering collaboration in Philadelphia.
