We’re excited to announce that Rasheed Z. Ajamu has been promoted to Director of Community News and Engagement at Resolve Philly.

Over the past four years at Resolve (and nearly five years with Germantown Info Hub), Rasheed has grown from reporter to editor to leader, helping shape how we practice community-centered journalism. He has built enduring relationships, strengthened our storytelling, and developed systems that support both impact and sustainability.

Rasheed shares, “I’m so excited to be stepping into the role of director of community news at Resolve Philly. In this role, I’ll no longer be just leading the Germantown Info Hub—I’ll also be guiding and advising the broader editorial strategy of the organization.”

Resolve Philly executive director Sara Shahriari says, “Rasheed sees journalism as mutual aid and civic infrastructure – part of a web of services that a community can produce for itself, to organize, empower and care for itself. They’ve  grown Germantown Info Hub with such intention and excellence, and I’m thrilled to continue working alongside Rasheed in this new role.”

Reflecting on his time with Resolve, Rasheed adds, “As I enter this new chapter, I hope to lend my magic to help push Resolve’s content and engagement to new heights… I’m committed to ensuring that ‘news’ isn’t just a noun, but a verb—the active work of being with our communities to make sure people receive the information they need to navigate and live in this city.”
