    Hyperlocal solutions for water and flood resilience 

    After a chemical spill shook the city's confidence in its tap water, Germantown residents doubled down on preparing for water disruptions. The GREAT Water Working Group launched to help neighbors prepare for emergencies, manage stormwater, and share resources. Block captains, renters, and neighbors without transportation are now leading a growing effort to build water resilience in one of Philly’s most flood-prone communities.

    Houston Elementary’s second annual student art show turned Our House Culture Center into a vibrant gallery of imagination, history, and bold expression. Teacher Shaunia Bronson led the showcase, supported by students, parents, and community leaders — all working together to uplift youth creativity. From mixed media to manga-inspired pieces to historical storytelling, the night was a powerful tribute to what’s possible when young artists are given the space to shine.
