Police tout historic falls in violence; Neighbors say it won’t last without investment.
At an Aug. 28 safety forum hosted by State Reps. Andre D. Carroll and Darisha Parker at Braid Mill, the 14th District, reported that violent and property crime are on pace for historic declines. Neighbors welcomed the news but argued safety won’t last without investment in housing, jobs, and schools—and renewed PILOT contributions from large, tax-exempt institutions. Officials and local groups urged residents to stay involved and connected to services.
