Senior neighbors seek action now to make Walnut Lane safer
The City of Philadelphia is starting community engagement for its Complete Streets improvement project at the unsafe intersection of Walnut Lane and Morris Street. But, local seniors and residents feel the process is too slow, saying these issues have lingered for years. They cite issues like speeding cars and hard-to-reach bus stops. They are frustrated with these kinds of delays, with one resident calling it a “killing magnet.” As the city plans its first open house, neighbors are asking why the meeting isn’t being held in Germantown, where the area most affected is listed.
