‘Without funding secured, what’s the point?’ asks Germantown neighbor about new proposed Walnut Lane safety plans
The City of Philadelphia recently hosted an open house at Kendrick Rec Center to present proposed safety improvements for the Walnut Lane Complete Streets Project — including new sidewalks, two-way bike lanes, and “speed slots” that calm traffic. While the event allowed for resident input on design options, some felt the meeting’s location — far from the most affected intersection — sent the wrong message. And without funding secured, even supporters wonder when (or if) the improvements will happen.
