Healing from trauma and grief doesn’t have to happen indoors — or alone. At the Philly Goat Project at Awbury Arboretum, wellness is rooted within the space: a grief garden, storybook trail, small free library, and rituals like tying memorial ribbons or speaking to a loved one by phone. In 2026, PGP’s new Director of Wellness, Anita Nutter, is expanding outreach — especially to schools — and ensuring neighbors know the farm is open, welcoming, and rich with volunteer and youth opportunities.
