Over 60 neighbors gathered at POWER Interfaith’s Housing Justice Town Hall in Germantown to share stories of displacement, affordability struggles, and property tax pressures. Though Councilmembers Cindy Bass and Anthony Phillips were invited, neither showed up. Still, neighbors spoke powerfully about their lived realities and asked pressing questions about the city’s housing future.

The GREAT Water Working Group launched to help neighbors prepare for emergencies, manage stormwater, and share resources. Block captains, renters, and neighbors without transportation are now leading a growing effort to build water resilience in one of Philly’s most flood-prone communities.
