Educator and activist Shakira King is reopening her mutual aid project, Jawn Aid, in direct response to food insecurity and recent disruptions to SNAP benefits. Through Operation Feed The Jawns, she’s calling on neighbors to collectively raise and redistribute $10,000 to help people across Philadelphia cover food and essential bills — continuing a tradition of Black mutual aid built on small donations that add up to big support.
