    Germantown’s newest herbal shop blends community and wellness

    The Studio, Germantown’s newest Black-owned wellness lounge and apothecary, opened on W. Chelten Avenue in May. Owner Nasir Blands, also known as Ace of Ace Holistics, says the shop is meant to be a calm community space where neighbors can explore herbal blends, meditation, yoga, and holistic wellness at their own pace.

    Inside Mental Health First Aid: What some Germantowners learned and why it matters

    What can we do when someone we love is struggling with their mental health? Germantown neighbors gathered at Crossroads Women’s Center to find out—taking part in a full-day Mental Health First Aid training led by Dr. Willie J. Keaton Jr. The workshop emphasized early intervention, empathetic listening, and real tools to offer support without relying on police intervention. Participants left with new skills, confidence, and a powerful reminder: care starts in community.
