    Face to Face expands its meal service to seven days a week

    After months of staffing and planning, Face to Face has expanded its dining room to operate seven days a week. The change comes amid cuts to public food programs and strengthens the organization’s role as a central entry point for meals, health care, legal help, and social services for Northwest Philadelphia neighbors.

    Jawn Aid opens again in direct response to community needs

    Educator and activist Shakira King is reopening her mutual aid project, Jawn Aid, in direct response to food insecurity and recent disruptions to SNAP benefits. Through Operation Feed The Jawns, she’s calling on neighbors to collectively raise and redistribute $10,000 to help people across Philadelphia cover food and essential bills — continuing a tradition of Black mutual aid built on small donations that add up to big support.
